Little ones put on a show for daddies in celebrating Father’s Day

A morning of song, dance and poetry is how loving and caring fathers were rewarded by their little ones when Agapeland Nursery School and Arrows of Destiny Christian Academy held its Father’s Day function on 15 June.

The kiddies showed off their creative sides as fathers, who felt exhilarated, captured the moment by taking photos and video clips on their cellphones.

Father’s Day was celebrated on 18 June, two days after Youth Day (16 June).

The daddies were also encouraged by the school principal Jeanette Porter to continue being heroes in their children’s lives despite difficult times.

“Dads are often undermined in the raising of children. Dad’s need to keep on forging a relationship with their children despite divorces or feeling alienated. Their children must see them through their own eyes and not be influenced by anybody else,” said Porter.

Fortune Masina and his son Kutlwano pull funny faces.

The school is no stranger to making parents feel appreciated and last month they hosted a similar occasion for Mother’s Day where moms were celebrated.

A proud dad Mark van Wyk who was cuddled by his two children, Chane and Ryan, after the occasion, said: “It’s so exciting to see all the children perform. It makes me proud to be a father. I’m quite sure other fathers felt as proud as well.”

A truly entertained father Kevin Collopen, the parents of Tatum and Tyler told Roodepoort Northsider that he was overjoyed to see his children singing and dancing for him. He also gave credit to the school for putting together the event.
