Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Rocci) in conjunction with First National Bank (FNB) held their annual business of the year awards on Saturday 1 November at Silverstar.
According to Rocci president Wessie van der Westhuizen, the purpose of the awards is to identify those businesses that add great value to the economy and accomplish success. “With the awards, Rocci honoured businesses whose hard work and innovations have elevated them to be recognised for their outstanding achievements,” said Van der Westhuizen.
The panel of judges who had the tough task of selecting the winners from hundreds of nominees consisted of Gerhard Ferreira from South African Institute of Chartered Accountants who was the chief adjudicator, FNB Commercial Banking, Business Partners Limited and Bebe’s Events.
The evening was an unforgettable occasion with MC and comedian Al Prodgers who had the audience at his feet with laughter.
Guest speaker of the evening, Sagren Ramalingum from FNB Business Gauteng South West regional head, delivered a positive message to all businesses.
On the entertainment side, opera music singers Arias Anonymous from Elegant Entertainment surprised all the guests with their performance and opera singing.
“FNB and The Roodepoort Chamber of Commerce and Industry would like to formally congratulate all the businesses that have walked away with an award, this is truly an exceptional accomplishment. We look forward to our next business of the year awards event in 2015,” concluded Ramalingum.
