Two homes hit, just hours apart

The Honeydew Police are investigating two cases of house-robbery and one of assault after two residences, one in Wilgespruit and one in Harveston, were hit by suspects on the morning of 3 August.

Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan, confirmed both incidents. He said the Wilgespruit robbery took place at about 3am, while the Harveston robbery occurred at approximately 10am.

“Three suspects armed with a firearm and a knife committed the robbery in Wilgespruit in the early hours and made off with laptops, cellphones and clothes, and also assaulted one person.

In the Harveston incident, two unarmed suspects made off with a quantity of jewellery after gaining entry through an unlocked door,” Muthan explained.

Muthan added that the two robberies were not linked, and no arrests have been made so far.
