Huge numbers are expected at this year’s annual Honeydew Policing Forum (CPF) Fun Run/Walk taking place on 30 September.

‘The more the merrier’ is what is anticipated by Jon Rosenberg, who is one of the organisers and public relations officer for the forum.

“It is absolutely impossible to predict the numbers at this stage. We’ve sent invites to Run for Life and other running clubs,” Rosenberg said.

Rosenberg felt that the promotion of this event on various platforms would generate much-needed numbers. However, the challenge would be the weather.

“My feeling is Facebook and the RAs will get us a lot [of participants]. This [the numbers] will also depend on the weather. Last year few people pulled out at the last minute because of the rain,” Rosenberg explained.

The event will be celebrating its third year running. The race will begin at Weltevreden Park Primary School where a registration process will be done from 8am.

The entry fee is R20 per entrant. Participants are encouraged to team up in a group of six to compete for the trophy or just bring their families and enjoy the work.

Dogs on leads will also be allowed but also an entry fee is required.
