Ruimsig — Gabriella Colandrea is a talented dancer and gymnast and has represented her country on more than one occasion in these fields.

At the age of 4, Gabriella’s parents were told that there was a ‘natural ability and great potential for Gabriella to participate in artistic gymnastics’. Therefore, she started training at Visions Gymnastics and has been training there for the past 11 years. During that time, she has competed at various levels and soon advanced into the high performance team.

Throughout the ensuing years, she attained Gauteng Regional, Gauteng Provincial and National colours, and was also National Champion in her respective categories.

Gabriella, a learner at Maragon Ruimsig, has been privileged to have travelled outside South Africa, participating in competitions for her club, as well as for her country, on several occasions. She represented South Africa twice, once in Namibia and placed third overall there. She has also competed in the USA and Slovenia.

In 2015, Gabriella’s love for her other extra-mural activity, contemporary dancing, became more prevalent, so she pursued this with as much passion as she did gymnastics.

In 2016, Gabriella took part in numerous dancing competitions that lead to her attaining Gauteng Provincial colours and as a result, in 2017, she competed in the Talent Africa Nationals, where she was awarded gold medals for each of her two solos, and for the trio dance.

She was then selected as a member of the South African team to represent South Africa at Talent America in New York, but was unfortunately unable to attend the event this year. These achievements have all helped mould Gabriella and have fired her to strive to reach her goals.
