Manhunt launched for murder suspect

A manhunt has been launched by Muldersdrift Police for a suspect believed to be behind a murder at an informal settlement near Muldersdrift.

The man is suspected of having committed murder at Ruimsig Squatter camp, according to Warrant Officer Masedi Masedi, the spokesperson for the police station.

“It is alleged that the suspect and the deceased had an argument on Sunday 19 November at 8.30am at the above-mentioned place.”

“The argument got heated whereby the suspect hit the deceased with a brick on the upper body,” Masedi explained.

He added that the deceased was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics.

Since the suspect is infamous in the community, Masedi has advised the residents to contact the police. “The community is advised not to arrest the suspect as he is dangerous but to contact the police when seeing him,” he urged.

The identikit of the suspect has not been finalised as yet
