The Muldersdrift Police, together with the Mogale City Local Municipality and Environment Health Department invaded a supermarket and instructed the owner to shut down his business after he was found to be selling expired goods.
The heath operation was held on 3 October in one of the supermarkets in Rietfontein, Muldersdrift.
“During the operation, it was discovered that most of the products on the shelves of the supermarket were expired,” said Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Constable Slindile Ntuli.
She added that the owner of the supermarket was instructed to shut down until the matter is resolved with the Environmental Health Department.
“Community members are urged to check the expiry date before they purchase any products from the shops,” Ntuli urged.
